  1. Role of beta-catenin in melanoma development and progression

  2. Beta-catenin regulation of pituitary cell function

Beta-catenin is a multifunctional cell adhesion and signaling protein, important in both normal development and in some disease processes. The laboratory uses a number of cell and molecular techniques to examine the regulation of beta-catenin in melanoma. Our current hypothesis is that beta-catenin displays more gene regulatory activity because it is mis-localized.
