Marshall University Biomedical Sciences Program

Available Research Facilities

Core Facilities The Biomedical Sciences program at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine is pleased to offer many state-of-the-art facilities to support research at the University. These include the following facilities:

Animal Resource Facility External link - The mission of the Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is to provide professional animal support services to the faculty, staff, and students at Marshall University.

Genomics Core Facility External link - provides access to a variety of instrumentation to aid in the analysis of gene expression, both on individual genes and on a genomic scale.

Microscopy Core Facility External link - Marshall University has available to all M.U. faculty, staff, and students excellent microscopy facilities, including: confocal laser scanning, scanning electron with x-ray analysis, atomic force, high resolution fluorescence, and differential contrast optics with both tunable and standard filters.

Flow Cytometry Core Facility - provides the use of a state of the art BD FACSAria cell sorter capable of 11 parameter analysis.

Translational Genomic Research Institute - The Charles H. McKown, Jr., MD Translational Genomic Research Institute (TGRI) at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center helps enable researchers to rapidly translate genome-based laboratory research into clinical applications that will improve patient care.
